Our Assessment:  The Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf C96 Broomhandle Carbine is a unique and rare firearm that is a variant of the famous Mauser C96 pistol, also known as the “Broomhandle” due to its distinctive grip shape. This carbine variant features a longer barrel, typically around 18 inches in length, and a detachable wooden shoulder stock, which converts it into a carbine-style firearm.

The C96 Carbine was produced by Mauser, a German firearms manufacturer, and was chambered in various calibers, including the standard 7.63x25mm Mauser, as well as 9x19mm Parabellum and 9mm Mauser Export in some variants. However, production numbers were limited, and the C96 Carbine did not see widespread adoption into military service. It was primarily an experimental project by Mauser.

Today, the Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf C96 Broomhandle Carbine is considered an exceptionally rare and collectible firearm. Its unique design, limited production, and historical significance make it highly sought-after among firearms collectors.   This particular model comes with its original Presentation Mauser C96 Westley Richards & Co Ltd Display Case Circa 1900 in Excellent condition and makes this already rare and valuable find even more unique.  Please see our photos, specs below, and good luck on your bid!
