Markings:  The left side of the receiver is marked “Remington” followed by a Bullseye and “Wingmaster / Model 870LW / V369767J”.  The left side of the barrel is marked “****28 GA. FOR 2 ¾ OR SHORTER SHELLS” and “MOD.”. The left side of the chamber is marked “XV N” with an hourglass proof.   The right side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. / PATENT NUMBERS 2,675,638 – 2,780,881 – 2,719,375”.  The right side of the chamber is marked with a series of proofs and test marks.

Barrel Length: 25″

Choke:  Fixed, MOD.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a silver front bead on the top of the vented barrel rib.  The rib and receiver have wavy serrations for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The stocks are press checkered wood with a capped pistol grip, straight comb, finger groove forend, and basket weave Pachmayr buttpad.  The LOP measures 14 1/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.   There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is crisp.  There are a few faint handling marks but the stocks remain generally free of any notable defects.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no visible erosion in the bore.  In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition:  This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no operation wear.  The screw heads are sharp and pins are unmarred. The markings are clear.There is some minor finish loss on the front of the barrel rib and a couple faint scratches on the receiver.  Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics:  The action functions correctly.  We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
