Markings: The top of the receiver is marked with a bullet-shaped trademark stamp. The right side of the receiver is marked with the US Patents and “AUTO-ORDNANCE CORPORATION / WEST HURLEY. NEW YORK. U.S.A.”. The left side of the receiver is marked with “MODEL OF 1927 A1 NO. 29697”, “THOMPSON SEMI-AUTOMATIC CARBINE / CALIBER .45 AUTOMATIC CARTRIDGE” “FIRE/SAFE”. The rear sight is marked with numbers”1-6”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed to the Cutts Compensator. The rear sight is a notch sight that flips up into a ladder aperture sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The fixed buttstock, pistol grip, and forestock are walnut wood with smooth surfaces. The receivers are steel. The LOP is 16.75” from front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The stocks rate in Excellent overall condition. There are some compression marks on the foregrip, grip, and buttstock. There are a few minor scuffs on the front edge of the pistol grip.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. There are a few hard to notice scuffs on the edges of the receiver and a small scratch/drag line on the right side over the patent dates. Overall this rifle rates in about Excellent overall condition.
