There is some minor operation wear on the mag tube.  There are some scattered faint scratches on the barrel exterior and receiver. The action shows minor operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition as refinished.

Our Assessment: This is a scarce vintage Early post-war Winchester Model 42 standard grade .410 bore pump-action shotgun from 1946 offered in CYL bore. The Model 42 was the first pump shotgun specifically designed for the .410 chambering and resembles its larger cousin the Model 12. This shotgun is in Excellent condition, having been refinished, but retains a beautiful bore and original stocks.  According to Ned Schwing’s The Winchester Model 42, very few of these shotguns were made with CYL bore after the war as they were last offered in 1951. This will make a fine addition to any collection and given its scarcity it will be popular with the Winchester collectors.   Please see our photos and good luck on your bid! – L.S.
