Our Assessment: The A.A. Arms AP9 is a semi-automatic pistol that was manufactured by A.A. Arms in the 1990s. The gun was designed by Alfredo K. Keller, who was also responsible for the design of the Tec-9 pistol.

The AP9 was first introduced in 1992 as a successor to the Tec-9. The gun was marketed as a personal defense weapon and was designed to be reliable, lightweight, and easy to use. Like the Tec-9, the AP9 had a rectangular-shaped frame, tubular receiver, and a threaded barrel that could accept a variety of muzzle devices.

The AP9 was available in several models, including the Mini, the Target, and the Standard. The Mini had a shorter barrel and was designed for concealed carry, while the Target had a longer barrel and adjustable sights for improved accuracy. The Standard model had a medium-length barrel and was intended for general use.

The AP9 was controversial due to its association with crime and violence. The gun’s high-capacity magazine, which could hold up to 30 rounds, made it popular with criminals and gang members. Several states and municipalities enacted bans on the gun, and it was eventually discontinued by A.A. Arms in the early 2000s.

Despite its controversial history, the AP9 has gained a cult following among gun enthusiasts and collectors. The gun’s distinctive design and association with the Tec-9 have made it a sought-after item among collectors of firearms from the 1990s.  Please see specs below of this collectible AP-9 Mini and good luck on your bid!
