Our Assessment: This A.H. Tompkins manufactured Precision Pistol is a single-shot trap-door style target pistol chambered for .22 LR rounds. A.H. Tompkins was a short-lived company that made a unique target pistol which  was produced under license with Varsity Manufacturing Co. of Springfield, Massachusetts. The company was formed in 1947, but by the early 1950s it had gone under. This gun is an extremely well preserved example of the company’s signature design. It has a very appealing and distinct aesthetic in addition to remaining mechanically sound. Whether you are a fan of historical firearms, unorthodox designs or wish to try out a new plinker this is a great option. Good luck on your bid! – L.S.
