Markings: The right side of the receiver is engraved “BASS LAKE BOYS / FIREARMS / CO.”.  The left side of the receiver is marked “DUDE’S AR / SER.# SM1 / CAL. 5.56”.  The safety options are marked “FIRE SAFE”.  The left side of the buttstock is marked “MAGPUL INDUSTRIES CORP.” and the right side is marked “CTR CAGE 1LX50”.     The pistol grip is marked “MAGPUL”, “MOE+ / MADE IN USA”. The barrel is marked “5.56 NATO 1/7”.  The charging handle is marked “RAINIER ARMS RAPTOR BY AXTS”.  The bottom of the muzzle device is marked “YHM”.  The back of the rear takedown pin lug is marked “Y”.  The left side of the hammer is marked “F2”.

Barrel Length: 16″, 18” with YHM Slant Muzzle Brake/Compensator.  Diamond Fluted Barrel.

Sights / Optics:  The top of the rifle is a full length flat top picatinny rail for all your favorite sights and optics.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The buttstock is a collapsible Magpul CTR Stock (Gray) featuring sling slot and rubber buttpad.  The pistol grip is a rubber overmolded Magpul MOE+ (Gray) grip with storage compartment.  The handguard is a rifle length Lightweight Picatinny Quad Rail featuring an M-LOK adapter on the bottom position with Magpul Angled Foregrip attached.  The buffer adapter has ambidextrous QD mounts.  This rifle is finished in what I believe to be some kind of Plating, possibly titanium, there is not much information I could find on this rifle.  All I can say is that the quality of the finish is very well done.  The entire rifle is plated, even the inside of the magwell and receiver.  The buffer tube is plated.  The magazines that come with this rifle have the same type of plating.  It’s simply gorgeous.   The LOP measures 14.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the fully extended buttpad. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.   This rifle featured a Binary Trigger System.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: 3x 30rd Brownells Magazines in Excellent condition.  The magazines appear unused.  They have the same finish as the rifle.

Type of Finish: PLEASE BE ADVISED.  We do not know what type of finish this rifle has.  It is friction resistant and smooth.

Finish Originality: Custom. Possibly original.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition:  This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish.  There are some imperfections in the finish on the handrail and on the receiver, especially in the angled parts. The markings are very clear. The screw heads are sharp and serviceable and the pinheads are unmarred.  Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.  Please see our photos for a better understanding of the condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.  The trigger is a Binary Trigger System.

Our Assessment:  Ladies and gentlemen, today we have an interesting piece on our hands – the DUDE’S AR by Bass Lake Boys Firearms Company. Now, this rifle is a little out there, but let’s break it down and see what it’s all about.

First off, this baby rocks a serial number #1. That’s right, folks, it’s numero uno, making it quite a collector’s item. The DUDE’S AR comes in a stunning bluish gray oil colored finish that’ll catch your eye from a mile away, I don’t know if its powder coated, anodized, titanium plated, or made of what dreams are made of, but it’s just slick looking and feels great to the touch. The buffer tube, adapter, and magazines also sport the same finish, giving it a cohesive and stylish look.

Now, let’s talk hardware. The DUDE’S AR is equipped with a YHM Slant Muzzle Brake to keep that muzzle rise in check and ensure faster follow-up shots which is very necessary with this rifle since it comes equipped with a binary trigger system. That’s right, shots stay on point while you’re spilling a hailstorm of lead down range, not much gets better than that.  The picatinny quad rail provides plenty of real estate for your favorite accessories, whether it’s lights, lasers, or vertical grips. Customize it to your heart’s content.

But wait, there’s more. This rifle features a Raptor Ambi Charging Handle, making it easy to charge the rifle from either side. It’s all about that ambidextrous goodness, folks. And if you’re into quick-detach sling attachments, the Ambi QD mount buffer adapter has got you covered.

Overall, this rifle is a unique beauty with some vague origins.  There’s little to no information on this rifle and a quick surf on the webs leaves one high and dry. So with no data to back up any quality statements or accuracy reviews there’s not much to say in that regard. But what it lacks in research clarity, it makes up for in uniqueness, beauty, and unbelievable prowess to turn every head at the range.  People will be reminiscing years from now around campfires saying “remember that Dude’s AR?” as the myth that this rifle is sure to spark unfolds to legend.  Please see our photos and good luck on your bid!   – L.S.
