Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH / MADE IN JAPAN / MIROKU”. The right is marked “BL-22 CALIBER .22 SHORT, LONG & LONG RIFLE / PATENT NO. 3377731”. The bottom right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number “01144MW242”. The butt plate is marked “BROWNING”. The bottom of the lever is marked with a gold-colored Buckmark.
Barrel Length: 24”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel, the rear sight is an elevation adjustable buckhorn sight dovetailed into the barrel. The top of the receiver is grooved for a claw type scope mount.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered wood with a straight grip, straight comb, Browning checkered polymer buttplate, and banded forend. There is only one notable mark in the wood, a small compression on the comb of the stock. The LOP measures 13.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate.There are no chips or cracks. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blued Barrel and Engraved Satin Nickel Receiver.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The only mark to the metal’s surfaces is a very small hairline scratch on the left side of the receiver. The screw heads are sharp, the pins are unmarred. Overall this rifle is in Excellent to Like New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
