Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked, “MD0698 / Model SLR-100 / Cal. 7.62×39 / Arsenal Bulgaria Intrac Knox TN”. The rear sight is marked, “1-8 A”. The rear of the dust cover is marked, “BM21988”.
Barrel Length: 16.5” Threaded with removable slant muzzle brake.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post and the rear is an adjustable leaf tangent U-Notch sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The 3 piece stock set is Hungarian wood. The buttstock is fixed with a steel buttplate and trap door for cleaning kit compartment. The pistol grip is checkered wood. There are scratches and compression marks throughout. The stock set is from a surplus Hungarian Kit so the compression marks and scratches or normal. The SLR-100 uses a Bulgarian made receiver and Hungarian military parts kit. The receivers for the SLR-100 were meant to be sold to Arsenal USA and chambered for .223 but when the deal fell through, the receivers were sold to Intrac and converted to use 7.62×39. Overall the stock rates in Fine condition. The LOP measures 12.75” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some spotted erosion in the bore especially in the grooves. The poor rates in Good Condition.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some light scuffs and scratches. The rifle has typical wear from responsible use and proper storage. The markings are very clear. The screw heads are sharp and serviceable and the pinheads are unmarred. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: If you are looking for a high end AK-47 variant with classic features on par with the Type III Kalashnikov rifles, then look no further because this is as good as it gets. Bulgarian AK variants are among the most sought after variants in the AK community, and for good reason. The classic builds with high end machinery and processing that make the AK-47 notorious for being the most robust, sturdy, and reliable firearms the world over is exactly what you find in Bulgarian craftsmanship. The SLR-100 receivers were originally made in Bulgaria and imported to Arsenal configured for .223. The deal however fell through due to U.S. regulations as regulations normally do and the receivers were reconfigured in 7.62×39 and sold to Intrac. Intrac used on these receivers original Hungarian surplus kits which gives this rifle a truly authentic experience and aesthetic.
