Markings: The right side of the magwell is marked, “MADE IN USA CENTURY ARMS INC GEORGIA, VT. CETME .308 (7.62mm).  The left and right side of the selector switch are marked, “S” and “F”.  The rear sight is marked, “1-4” on their appropriate flip sight.  The top of the receiver is marked, “CC5735”.

Barrel Length: 18”. 19” with flash hider.

Sights / Optics: Hooded front sight and rotating four-position aperture rear sight

Stock Configuration & Condition:  This rifle is fitted with Wood CETME furniture with appropriate finger grooves and vent holes in the handguard.  The buttstock has a sling loop in the center including two take down pin ports.  There are some general and heavy impression marks throughout.  There is a chip taken out of the front right side of the handguard.  The stock is free of cracks and functional defects. Overall the stock is in Good Condition.  Please see our photos for a better understanding of this rifle’s condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: 4x 20rd, 1x 10rd, 1x 5rd .308 magazines in Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is very bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light scratches over the magwell and both sides of the fame and upper.  The most noticeable portion that has lost its finish is the right side near the scope mount and behind the ejection port. The markings are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about a Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories:  This rifle comes with a Model C Spanish Army Armorers Kit that includes an extra buttstock, handguard, internal parts, cleaning and takedown tools, magazines (as mentioned above), Bolt, Recoil Springs, all in its original wood case.  Please see our photos for a better understanding of the contents and condition of the contents.

Our Assessment:  The CETME rifle is a Spanish military assault rifle that was developed in the 1950s and 1960s by a team of engineers working at the Centro de Estudios Técnicos de Materiales Especiales (CETME), which was a Spanish state-owned research and development organization. The CETME rifle was designed to be a low-cost alternative to other military assault rifles of the time, such as the M16 and the AK-47. It was initially intended for use by the Spanish Armed Forces, but it was also sold to other countries.

The CETME rifle is notable for its use of roller-delayed blowback, which is a type of operation that uses rollers to delay the opening of the bolt until the pressure in the barrel has dropped to a safe level. This allows the CETME rifle to use lighter and cheaper materials in its construction, as well as making it more reliable and easier to manufacture. The CETME rifle was also one of the first military assault rifles to use the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge, which is now the standard caliber for many military and civilian rifles.

The CETME rifle was used by the Spanish Armed Forces until the mid-1990s, when it was replaced by the Heckler & Koch G36. It is no longer in widespread use, but it is still used by some military and law enforcement organizations around the world.

This rifle was put together by Century Arms and built on an American receiver with original surplus Spanish Army parts.  This is not a showpiece, but a very functional rifle in its current outfitting.  Add the Excellent parts from the Armorers kit and you’ve got a piece worthy of bringing to the annual show and tell.  Great for the bidder that wants a reliable, powerful 308 rifle that’s perfect for bringing to the range and putting some rounds through the chamber, this rifle based off the HK 91 and 93 is sure to make that arsenal shine all the more.  Good Luck!
