Markings: The right barrel is marked “TRIPLE THREAT MODEL”, “12 GA 2 ¾” – 3””, “Patent No. US 6,935,063BI”. The underside of the right barrel is marked “TC5882”. The left barrel is marked “CHIAPPA USA LTD”, “DAYTON OH”, “AKKAR – TURKEY”. The receiver tang is marked “TC5882”. The underside of the receiver is marked with the Charles Daly logo. There are two spots of scroll work at the rear of the barrels.
Barrel Length: 18.5”
Choke: Uses the Remington choke system. The top barrel has a full choke, the right barrel has a cylinder-12 choke, and the left barrel has an improved cylinder choke.
Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a brass bead front sight on a raised base.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The buttstock and forend are hand oiled checkered walnut, with a semi-pistol grip, sling swivels, and a rubber recoil pad. The butt stock breaks down for ease of storage and for use as a pistol grip. There is wear along the edges of the buttstock and forend. There are scratches and scuffs scattered throughout the buttstock and forend. There is a round manufacturing defect in the semi-pistol grip. The LOP measures 14.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is some light erosion and stubborn fouling in each bore.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95 % of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light scratches and scuffs throughout, with more pronounced ones on the bottom of the receiver. The pins are unmarred. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Chiappa Triple Threat is an eye-catcher of a shotgun. Chiappa has specifically geared the Triple Threat for home defense, with its three 18.5” 12 GA barrels. But, that doesn’t mean it’s entirely utilitarian. The oiled Turkish walnut buttstock and forend give this the appearance of a high quality shotgun, while the fit and finish make it one. The buttstock also breaks down, giving you more options for easy storage or for use in especially tight quarters with only the semi-pistol grip. The Remington choke system opens up more possibilities for use, whether it’s for home defense, at the range, or out in the bush. At the end of the day, the Triple Threat is as versatile as one would expect from a triple-barreled shotgun.
