Our Assessment: The Navy Arms Chinese Tu-711, often referred to as the “Broomhandle,” is a unique specimen in the world of firearms. In this particular case, featuring a T-712 “Schnellfeuer” upper converted to 9mm with the use of detachable high cap magazines, it captures a compelling blend of history and craftsmanship. The Schnellfeuer upper adds an air of intrigue, as it hails from a version of the C-96 that could fire in fully automatic mode. The conversion to 9mm modernizes this piece slightly, making ammunition more accessible for contemporary users while preserving the overall aesthetic and function of the original design.

Navy Arms’ venture into offering this Chinese-manufactured C-96 echoes the gun’s storied past, linking the military histories of multiple nations. It’s a rare and desirable piece, especially considering that it was imported only in 1992.

Couple this firearm’s historical significance with its limited production run, and what you have is a collector’s dream. Whether you’re a firearms enthusiast interested in mechanical complexities, a history aficionado, or a discerning collector, the Navy Arms Chinese Tu-711 presents an alluring package that promises to be the centerpiece of any collection.  Please see our photos and good luck on your bid!  – L.S.
