Our Assessment: Designed by the one and only John Browning, the 1911 has been a staple in the world of firearms for over a century. And the Series ’70? Well, that’s just an improved version of the original badass design. This thing is a legend, and for good reason.

The Series ’70 sports an improved trigger and a larger ejection port, making it even easier to shoot accurately. And let’s not forget about the grip angle, which is designed to point the muzzle straight at your target. You won’t find a more natural feeling grip on any other pistol.

And what about that single-action trigger? It’s crisp, it’s clean, and it’s got a short reset that’ll have you putting rounds on target like a pro. The .45 ACP cartridge this thing fires is a man-stopper, plain and simple. You get a lot of energy delivered to your target, and it’s still controllable enough to get you back on target fast.

Bottom line, folks: the Colt 1911 Series ’70 Government Model 45 ACP is a damn good gun. It’s reliable, accurate, and it’s got a rich history. Whether you’re a law enforcement officer, military personnel, or just someone who appreciates a fine piece of machinery, you can’t go wrong with a Colt 1911.  And with a ProPoint Tasco Red Dot sight mounted to its Weigand Weaver Rail, this 1911 takes the marksmanship game to a whole new level as you’ll be punching holes in paper bad guys with ease.  Please see our photos, specs below, and good luck on your bid!
