Action Type: Single Action/Double Action, Swing Out Cylinder with ejector.

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT”, “OFFICERS MODEL MATCH”, and “ CAL .22 MAGNUM CTG.”. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CONN. U.S.A.”. The left sideplate is marked with a rampant colt logo. The crane cut is marked “78902 / B”, and the crane is marked “78902”. The left side of the trigger guard is marked with a Triangle “P”.

Barrel Length: The barrel is 6” in length.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a black blade pinned into a ramped serrated base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flat topped adjustable square notched target sight that is screwed into a recess in the top of the frame.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered wood with silver rampant Colt medallions. There is some minor handling wear, some depressions, and a few small surface scratches. The checkering is crisp with semi dulled peaks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Good overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. This bore is very clean for a pistol of this age. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 90% of its metal finish. The cylinder has a crisp turn-line.  There is thinning and finish loss on the cylinder face, the leading edges of the muzzle, the cylinder release, and where the grips meet the frame. The knurling on the ejector rod is sharp and the rod has some operational wear. The serrations on the trigger and the checkering on the hammer are sharp. The hammer has some stubborn surface rust on both sides. The hammer recess also has some surface rust. The trigger has some small rust dots in the blueing. The screw heads show little to no tool marks with strong slots and the markings are crisp. Overall, this revolver rates in about Very Good condition as C&R.

Mechanics: The cylinder lockup on this revolver is very good with little side to side play. The single action trigger breaks cleanly and lightly with little to no overtravel. The action functions correctly. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
