Markings: On the left side of the receiver is marked “ARM SEMI AUTOMATIC RIFLE CALIBER 7.62 X 39 MAADI COMPANY MADE IN EGYPT”. On the left side of the receiver just under the receiver cover is marked “ES06706”. Back of dust cover is marked “6706” and the right side of the receiver is marked “PARS INTL. LOV. KY. On the left side of the trunnion are hieroglyphics. The right side of the receiver near the safety lever is marked “S” and “F”.
Barrel Length: 16.5”. 18” with compensator.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a post iron sight. The rear sight is a leaf “U” tangent notch marked from “1 – 10” and “P”.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is original high gloss Egyptian Wood. The buttstock has a metal buttplate and trap door that currently houses a cleaning kit. The pistol grip is smooth with squared edges, and the 2 piece handguard has appropriate swells. The LOP measures 13.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the stock. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: Two 30rd AK47 magazines, one modern Egyptian and the other is Chinese. Both are on Fine-Excellent Condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: There is some paint loss on the BCG and moderate scratches on the left side of the receiver. There is some paint loss on the dust cover primarily toward the rear right side. The cleaning kit has some rust buildup. The screw heads are sharp and serviceable and the pins are unmarred. The markings are crisp. Overall this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: A little worn, but it takes more than that to put a stop to a workhorse like a Maadi ARM. This is a great example of a commercially imported AKM variant. This simple and sturdy military rifle makes for addition to any collection and is possibly the closest most of us will get to the original Russian AKs thanks to their involvement with production in Egypt. The ARM was the first AK type rifle to really be imported into the US and set the stage to become one of the most beloved weapons on every corner of the planet. Although this is a post ban import, with its filed down bayonet lug and fixed muzzle device – the DNA of this rifle is as Russian as you can get to an AKM rifle. Any Egyptian AK rifle deserves a place in a prized collection and a chance to be put through its paces at a shooting range. Bid on it, win it, love it! Good Luck!
