Our Assessment: On display is a Hammerli-Walther Olymnpia Pistole. The Walther Olympia pistol was made until 1944 when German industry was no longer able to keep up with producing pistols for sporting purposes. After the war the Walther Olympia was brought back into production by Swiss company Hammerli who made it as the Hammerli-Walther during the early 1950’s. The later pistols differ from the earlier ones in having a flat sided barrel and different mountings for barrel weights. The Hammerli made pistols can also be found fitted with a muzzle-brake, as is found here. This example sports a 9.25” barrel and is slotted for barrel weights (none included). It retains about 93% original finish, rating in about Fine condition. This would be a great piece for a Walther collection. Please see our photos and good luck! C.J.
