Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion both bores rate 10/10.

Overall Condition: These handguns retain about 99% of their metal finish. Both have been stored responsibly for most of their lifetime seeing little to no use. There is minor operation wear on the actions but nothing significant. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, these handgun are in Excellent condition as a collective set. Please see photos for a better understanding of their condition.

Mechanics: The actions function correctly. The mechanics on both pistols are superb with no flaws detected.  The lockup is very strong, there is no play on the barrel to frame for the Model 195 and the model 777 has very little play on the cylinder on each chamber. We have not fired these pistols.  There is some thick preservative grease on some of the components.  A thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet all your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This set comes with a velvet lined vintage locking case with a wooden 10rd cartridge holder, and internal compartment with door.

Our Assessment: The Harrington & Richardson Model 777 “Ultra Sportsman” revolvers had a very limited run in only about a year. They have a reputation for being accurate and reliable. This particular revolver is in remarkable condition for a pistol of its vintage. Many a sportsman and shooter learned their skills on revolvers such as these. This one is in such nice condition that it is like stepping into the past when these could be purchased at the local “Western Auto” or hardware store, or bought over- the- counter. Definitely a rare opportunity for any H&R collector.

The Harrington & Richardson Model 195 (U.S.R.A. MODEL) likewise saw a limited run, though a bit more expansive seeing about a total of 3,500 produced from 1928 to 1941 when production ended.  This pistol was responsible for setting a new pistol record in 1932 and were the first pistols to be carried by British “Bobbies”.  This collective set, in spectacular condition, is sure to crown any collection it will find itself in.  Please see our photos and good luck on your bid! – L.S.
