Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked “R1A1 Sporter / Receiver made by IMBEL, Itajuba BRAZIL / Imported by CAI Georgia VT” and “136060”. The left side of the receiver is marked “Cal. 7,62mm(.308)”. The left side of the frame is marked “14518” with “S E” for the selection options. The inside of the magwell is marked “2002”.
Barrel Length: 21.25”. Comes with an elongated flash hider that brings the barrel length to 24.25”.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post forward of the gas system. The rear sight is an adjustable sliding aperture.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The buttstock and pistol grip are smooth black polymer. The buttstock has a rubber buttpad and sling swivel. The handguard is steel with finger grooves and appropriate grooves for the resting bipod. The barrel has a free rotating sling swivel. The charging handle and carry handle are polymer. The LOP measures 14.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition. There are some faint drag lines on the synthetic surfaces along with some faint and sparse scuffs. The handguard is free of any imperfections except where the bipod has lightly rubbed against the handguard.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are some light scratches on the top cover and receiver. The left side of the receiver has some rub wear where the receiver meets the frame. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent Condition. Please see our photos for a better understanding of this rifle’s condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The German G1 FN FAL or Gewehr 1 was a legend of its time, and became an iconic battle rifle. After seeing this rifle in action the West German Army placed an order in 1956 for close to 100,000 of these rifles. The G1 was set apart from other FAL’s by the horizontally grooved metal handguard , integrated bi-pod and the very notable removable flash hider. This particular model is constructed on a Imbel receiver however the rest of the rifle is an original G1 part kit. Chambered in the venerable 7.62×51 NATO this semi automatic battle rifle could send lead down range with dependability and accuracy.
