Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “M&P40 STAINLESS” with the S&W crest. The right side of the slide is marked, “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A.”. The right side of the frame is marked, “MPE5450” on a metal inlay. The top of the chamber is marked, “40 S&W”. The bottom of the magazine is marked “Smith and Wesson” with the crest in the center. The left and right side of the magazines are marked 4-15 over their appropriate witness holes. The front of the magazines are marked, “40S&W .357” and the follower is marked, “.40”. The top of the slide is marked “IOWA STATE PATROL” within a badge. The left and right side of the pistol grip are marked with a S&W crest that also reads “MILITARY POLICE”.
Barrel Length: 4” barrel
Sights / Optics: The sights are open iron sights. The front sight is a blade dovetailed to the slide. The rear sight is an adjustable square notch sight. 3 DOT.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is synthetic polymer integral to the frame with textured front and backstrap. Has ambidextrous slide release and reversible mag release. The mag release is textured like the pistol grip. There is a 6 o’clock picatinny rail for laser or flashlight accessories. The grip rates in about Good overall condition. There are no chips or cracks. There is a good amount of handling wear as the texturing has been slightly worn down. Not uncommon for a service pistol however.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some visible corrosion in the grooves of the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The screw heads are sharp and pins are clean. The markings are crisp. There are some scratches on the front and rear sight. There are some light scratches on the slide just behind the front sight. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of one original 15rd .40 S&W magazine in Excellent condition.
