Markings: The top of the barrels is marked “IVER JOHNSON”, “HERCULES GRADE”.  The right side of the receiver is marked “IVER JOHNSON’S / ARMS & CYCLE WORKS / FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.”.  The left side of the receiver is engraved with a Pointer.  The buttplate is marked “IVER JOHNSON” with the Iver Johnson’s Owl Logo.

Barrel Length: 26”

Choke: Both bores are FULL choke, Fixed.

Sights / Optics:  The front sight is a brass bead fixed to the top of the solid serrated barrel rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The stocks are two piece checkered wood with straight grip, straight comb, and serrated hard rubber buttplate.   The LOP measures 14”  from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate.  The checkering is crisp with sharp peaks.  There is some very minor handling wear.  The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.  There are no chips or cracks.

Type of Finish: Blued Steel, The receiver has turned a plum color

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.  There is some minor lead fouling in the chokes.  The right barrel has a very small ding about 2 inches from the muzzle but is very shallow and shouldn’t affect firing.  In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9/10 each.

Overall Condition:  This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows minimal wear. The receiver has turned a plum hue. There is minor wear around the safety.  The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
