Markings: The top of the chamber is marked “J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY / CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A.”. The flat of the frame underneath the chamber is marked “53909”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed hooded, sight post dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch that is screw adjustable.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a smooth wood, the grips have surface scratches throughout. The pistol also comes with a detachable metal shoulder stock. The grips rate in Fair overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is dull, the rifling is shallowly defined, there is some scattered erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 5/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 35% of its original finish. The finish has worn off the receiver/ frame and has turned to a brown patina. There are scattered patches of surface rust and scratches throughout the balance of the metal surfaces. The bottom of the heel has rusted as have the screws. The barrel retains some finish of the sides of the chamber and the barrel itself. Overall this pistol is in Good condition considering its age for C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. The charging handle is loose but the barrel lock up is strong. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
