Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. ILION, NEW YORK. U.S.A. / * * * MODEL 1895GS – CAL. 45/70 GOVT. * * *” and is also marked with a “LK” proof at the rear. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked with Marlin’s two-line warning. The left side of the receiver is marked “MR55279F” with a QR code. .
Barrel Length: Approximately 17.75”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade screwed to the barrel with a white painted face. There is a ghost ring dovetailed to a base screwed to the receiver. There is a Semi-buckhorn rear sight as well screwed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, sling stud in the belly and the forearm cap, and a black rubber vented recoil buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. There are some light scratches on the wood with a few shallow compression marks. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad shows light rub wear along the edges. The checkering is crisp with only some light handling wear. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. The bore does need a light cleaning.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are some very faint and light scratches on the sides of the receiver. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The trigger is crisp. The receiver contains a push safety that blocks the hammer from hitting the pin. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with an attached leather sling in good condition.
