Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “1895SBL” and “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN CT. U.S.A. / * * * MODEL 1895SBL – CAL. 45/70 GOVT. * * *” and is also marked with a “JM” proof at the rear. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked with Marlin’s two-line warning. The left side of the receiver is marked “91802639”. The picatinny rail is marked “XS LEVER RAIL PATENT D577.094”.
Barrel Length: Approximately 18.25”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade screwed to the barrel with a white painted face. The top of the receiver and chamber are mounted with a picatinny rail for sight and optic options. The rear of the rail has a provision for a rear sight that is empty.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered laminate wood with a capped forearm and grip, straight comb, sling stud in the belly and the forearm cap, and a black rubber Decelerator buttpad. There are no chips or cracks, however there are some light scratches on the on the forearm and buttstock. The right side of the comb has a couple small compression marks. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad shows light rub wear along the edges. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are some very faint and light scratches on the sides of the receiver. There are a couple scuffs on the barrel and mag tube. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The trigger is crisp. The receiver contains a push safety that blocks the hammer from hitting the pin. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
