Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. MOD. 444 – CAL. 444 MARLIN.”. The left side of the barrel also has a “JM” stamp proof. The right side of the barrel is marked “ WARNING BEFORE USING GUN READ OWNER’S FOR SAFE OPERATION”. The tang is marked with the serial number “94031976”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade that is dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flat-top U-notch elevator sight that is dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped,to mount your favorite optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered wood with a capped forearm, semi-pistol grip, straight comb, and a rubber buttpad. The stock and fore end have no scuffs, scratches, or compression marks. There are no chips or cracks on the fore end, stock or buttpad. The LOP measures 13.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows scattered light marks, the checkering is sharp. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some light surface scratches on the receiver.. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. Overall this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a cross bolt safety present. The Hammer is serrated. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
