Markings:  The water table of the receiver is marked “FWM 58065 / L.C. SMITH / FIELD GRADE”.  The trigger plate is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN.”.  The top rib is marked “L.C. Smith 12 Ga.”.  The inside of the handguard is marked “065” on the wood and metal. The bottom of the chambers on the block is marked “JM” within an oval in two places and “FWM58065”.

Barrel Length: 28” ventilated rib, 2 ¾” Chamber

Choke: The left barrel has a Full choke and the right has a Modified Choke.  Both chokes are fixed.

Sights / Optics: The serrated rib has two bead sights.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are hand fitted American Walnut stocks with checkered semi-pistol grip, straight comb, checkered buttplate, and checkered forend.  There are two triggers, one for each barrel. The LOP measures 13” and 14” from the triggers to the rear of the buttplate. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.  There are a few small compression marks on the buttstock and forend. Some of the checkering peaks on the edges of the grip and forend are dulled through the checkering itself remains crisp.

Bore Condition:  The bores are bright. There are some minor rough spots mainly at the midsection. .

Overall Condition: This Shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows minimal wear from previous responsible use and storage. The screw heads are sharp and pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a CZ-USA box for storage purposes.  (Not original box).
