Our Assessment: The Mossberg Model 464 was introduced in 2008 as a way to fill the void left by the closure of Winchester’s New Haven factory in 2006 which ended domestic production of the Model 94. Styled like the classic 94, the 464 featured the same angle-eject action that had been introduced by Winchester in 1983. It also came with a tang safety in addition to a lever safety. This example is a special Denver commemorative edition and is 21st of only 100 made. It comes in a display case which we did not open as it is screwed together at the back and does not have an openable lid. The rifle appears to be in very good condition, with some minor thinning to the finish and a few small scratches here and there. Whether that means the rifle saw some light use prior to being placed in the display case, remains difficult to say. The case itself has some dings, dents, and scuffs to the wood as well as some discoloration and scratches on the glass. This is a neat display and would be a great fit for someone who is from Denver or is just a fan of commemorative rifles. Please see our photos.
