Markings: Left side of the receiver marked “9373361” and the receiver cover is marked “73361”. Lower receiver on the left side is marked “MAK-90 SPORTER CAL. 7.62 x 39MM”. Left side of the receiver is marked with “NORINCO INTERSTATE ARMS BILLERICA MA MADE IN CHINA”. Right side of receiver is marked “S” and “F” and the right side of the bolt carrier group is marked “73361”. Rear sight is marked with numbers “1-8” and “D”. The polymer magazine reads “Cal.7.62×39” on the left side of magazine and “IMI DEFENSE” on the bottom. The Parkerizes magazine reads “MADE IN KOREA” on the bottom.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded post and the rear sight is a “U” tangent notch marked from “1 – 8” and “D”.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a two piece wood forestock, thumbhole stock with integrated cheek rest and hand grip. The LOP measures 14.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the fixed stock. The stock rates in about Good+ overall condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: There are 2x 30rd 7.62×39 magazines included. One is Parkerized Steel made in Korea and the other is made of polymer by IMI Defense.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is minimal erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some wear on the bolt carrier group and all around the receiver. The screwhears are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The MAK-90 Sporter is a Chinese factory-built AK exported to the USA from 1990 through 1994. They were made after the 1989 gun bans took effect in order to meet the sporter classification of firearms. This is a great version of the Kalashnikov AKM & AK Type 56 combined. Many MAK 90 Sporters were made on the stamped Type-56 receivers, which are the Chinese variant of the AKM. This is a great rifle with everything you need. Use it as a shooter or keep it pristine in your gun safe. Everything is tight and functions smoothly. With a great mix of old quality function with some new age production, these Chinese made AK47s in the AK world are held in high esteem and are highly sought after. Many consider the Chinese build to be superior to the Russian made AKs. One thing is for sure, those who love Chinese AKs live by them as the rifle has proven itself time and time again under the notorious AK Stress Test with flying colors. And in the wood stock cases, they passed in a ball of fire! Though this rifle wasn’t born in the US, it sure does scream “AMERICA”. Add this to your arsenal by bidding and winning!
