Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “MAK-90 39194 / CAL 7.62X39MM / SEMI-AUTO”, and “KSI POMONA CA”. The left side of the dust cover is marked “9194”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO”. The Bolt Carrier is marked “9194”. The right side of the receiver is marked “S” and “F” near the safety lever.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded post and the rear sight is a “U” tangent notch marked from “1 – 8” and “D”.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is polymer 3 piece with fixed skeletonized thumbhole buttstock. The LOP measures 14.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the integrated buttplate. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition. There are some light scattered scratches on the handguard. There are no chips or cracks.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: 2x 30rd Steel Bodied 7.62×39 Magazines in Good condition. One is a Chinese Flat Back and the other appears to be East German.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some scattered light scratches on the dust cover as well as some loose storage marks on the receiver. The screwheads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition. Please see photos for a better understanding of this rifle’s condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The MAK-90 Sporter is a Chinese factory-built AK exported to the USA from 1990 through 1994. They were made after the 1989 gun bans took effect in order to meet the sporter classification of firearms. This is a great version of the Kalashnikov AKM & AK Type 56 combined. Many MAK 90 Sporters were made on the stamped Type-56 receivers, which are the Chinese variant of the AKM. This is a great rifle with everything you need. Use it as a shooter or keep it pristine in your gun safe. Everything is tight and functions smoothly. With a great mix of old quality function with some new age production, these Chinese made AK47s in the AK world are held in high esteem and are highly sought after. Many consider the Chinese build to be superior to the Russian made AKs. One thing is for sure, those who love Chinese AKs live by them as the rifle has proven itself time and time again under the notorious AK Stress Test with flying colors.
