Original J Stevens Arms Springfield 5100 16GA Side By Side Shotgun – Savage

SOLD FOR: $702

WOA#: WY220727TJ002

Our Assessment:  According to John Callahan, Arms Historian for Savage Arms, guns stamped 5100 were made by the J. Stevens Arms Division of Savage from 1941 to 1948. About 50,000 were made in that time frame. He indicated that the shotgun is basically a 311, and the 5100 stamp indicates a change in frame design and was used to distinguish between the old and new designs. He also said the Model 5100 does not show up in any Springfield or Stevens catalog.  This shotgun is in beautiful condition and being a WWII Era piece, it still shines in all its particular glory and would make a fine collectors piece as it was manufactured in the original Savage facility in Chicopee Falls, Mass.  The bores are clean and bright, and the mechanics are solid and crisp.  The double barreled shotgun is a timeless classic that deserves a spot in any arsenal.  See specs below and good luck!
