Sights/Optics: The front sight is a Redfield National Match hooded aperture target sight with level fixed to the barrel. The front sight uses replaceable inserts. The current insert is a donut supported by two horizontal arms. The rear sight is a Redfield National Match fully adjustable aperture sight. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled for optic options. In addition there are scope mounts installed, and the rear receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled. Please see our photos.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The stocks are nicely grained smooth wood in the “Marksman” configuration from the factory. The stock is one-piece smooth walnut stock with a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, checkered steel buttplate, 3 sling rings, and wood hand stop mounted to the bottom of the forend with drilled and tapped holes for adjustment. There are no notable defects outside of some minor rust spots on the checkered buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttplate. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The action has some operational wear. There is some thinning on the edges. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition for a Pre 64.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a safety mounted on the bolt. Pushed forwards, the safety is OFF. If pulled back all the way, it locks both the bolt and the trigger. If pulled back half-way, it blocks only the trigger. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
