Markings: Left side of the receiver is marked with the rampant Colt logo with “COLT AR-15 CAL .223 MODEL SP1 SER. SP22400”. Receiver behind the bolt catch marked “COLT’S PATENT FIREARMS HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. MFG.CO” with “SAFE” and “FIRE” marked near the safety selector. The bottom of the barrel is marked, “C MP B”. The side of the bolt is marked, “C” and the neck of the bolt head is not marked, “MPC”.

Sights / Optics:  The front sight is an adjustable post iron sight and the rear sight is A1 L-type flip aperture.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is an A1 style buttstock. The LOP measures 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttstock. The handguard is a full length triangular A1 style polymer handguard.  The pistol grip is an A1 Style synthetic grip.  The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition for a pre-ban rifle. There is typical aging and light scratches on the polymer surface including some scuffs.  There are no chips or cracks.  The

Bore Condition:  The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is little to no visible erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some wear around the rear of the ejection port as well as some scratches on the receivers. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this SP1 rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
