Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with “ARMALITE” and its logo with the Lion. The left side is also marked “AR-180 CAL 5.56mm MFG FOR ARMALITE INC BY HOWA JAPAN COSTA MESA, CALIF. PATENTS PENDING” The lower part of the left side of the receiver is marked with “S10559” and “SAFE” and “Fire” around the safety selector. The left and right side of the pistol grip is marked “AR-18 Armalite”. The right side of the receiver is marked “FIRE” and “SAFE”.
Barrel Length: 18” barrel, 20” with Three prong Flash Hider.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post with protective wings and the rear sight is an adjustable “L” style flip aperture with markings for 200 and 400. Mounted to the top of the receiver is an “ArmaLite” marked 2.75x20mm Scope with the “inverted post” reticle. The sight picture is clear with no visible obstructions. The Scope is in Very Good Condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The buttstock, pistol grip, and handguard are black synthetic. It has a side folding stock. The rifle has two sling swivels, one mounted on the gas block and one mounted to the bottom of the pistol grip. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the unfolded buttstock. The Handguard has little signs of wear with only age lines throughout. The pistol grip has light surface scratches throughout with no chips, cracks and some minor dings around the grip well. The stock has one small dent on the left side just behind the hinge, some light scratches and some handling wear throughout. The stock, handguard, and pistol grip rate in about Very Good overall condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle includes Two x 20rd magazines, in Good overall condition. Both are functional with strong springs, and sharp unbent feed lips. The bodies of the magazines show significant finish loss, please see our photos for a better understanding of the magazine’s condition. Both magazines are marked “AR18 ArmaLite INC.” on their base plates. The AR-180 uses a proprietary magazine derived from the standard AR-15 magazine.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is minimal to no visible erosion in the bore. The feed ramps are smooth and shiny. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows handling and use marks with wear across the barrel, the front sight and handguard cap, around the rear sight and across the receiver. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. The bolt face is clean, extractor and ejector springs are strong. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action function correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
