Our Assessment:  The M1 Garand became the workhorse of the American military during WWII and it earned a place of honor and prestige in the history books. The Garand was replaced by a souped up version with a detachable box magazine: the M14. The traditional wood-and-steel combat rifle design, which this rifle mimics, would only remain a battlefield staple for a few more years before the M16 came knocking. Still, the M14 served as a marksman rifle for the US military and would earn its own following of diehard fans thanks to its reliability in the field and the power behind the projectiles. Norinco, seeing the success of the M14 platform and the die hard niche that it carved out in the firearms world decided in the 90’s that it would begin to duplicate the Classic M14 design and import their rifles to countries such as the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and many others.

If you look at the chinese tag on an item at the retail store, you might jump the gun and assume “chincy, cheap, junk”.  However with Chinese firearms they are produced on the same factory lines as their official military weapons, meaning you can be confident that you are getting the highest quality materials that China uses for their military.  Tested for war.  Whether you’re shooting for accuracy and you need a firearm to help stock your freezer with game or give some protection against things that go bump in the night, the M14 is a classic design that belongs in everyone’s collection and this PolyTech is a quite rare and perfect opportunity to do just that.  Chinese Imported firearms were banned in 1994 by the Clinton Administration for a number of reasons.  Supposedly Norinco tried selling rocket launchers directly to gangs and cartels.  Regardless of the reason, the gun loving firearms community of the U.S. had lost the chance to acquire firearms that created a huge fan base.  These rifles are becoming harder to come by so don’t miss your chance to get one for yourself!  Good Luck!
