Markings: The barrel is marked “C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR”. The front sight is marked “UP” with a left-pointing arrow above it. The rear sight is marked “UP” with a left-pointing arrow and “DN” with a right-pointing arrow. The left side of the lower is marked with the Colt horse and logo, “AR-15 A2 HBAR SPORTER CAL.223 SER. SP 226094” also “COLT’S FIREARMS DIVISION COLT INDUSTRIES HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” “SAFE/FIRE”. The bottom of the magazine is marked with the colt horse logo and “COLT AR-15 CAL. 5.56MM COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. INC. HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A.” The left and right side of the magazine are scratched in “US GOVT. US ARMY”. Bolt is marked “C” on the left side and there are assist grooves on the right side of the bolt. Neck of the Bolt head is marked “MPC”. The left side of the gas block is marked, “BFI” within a diamond outline.
Barrel Length: 20”. 21” with A1 Flash Hider.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an A2 front post with elevation adjustment and the rear sight is an L-type flip aperture integrated to the carry handle.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle is equipped with a standard A2 fixed stock, pistol grip, and front handguard. There is minimal evidence of light use and wear.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: There is a small scuff on the left side of the upper receiver along with a lot of loose storage marks. There are some light loose storage marks on the right side of the receiver especially on the magwell. Everything is in Fine-Excellent condition for a Pre Ban Rifle.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This is an extremely rare find in the rest of free America, but commonly found in the states like Commiefornia. Once they set a ban and registration on AR rifles, responsible gun owners went out and purchased the rifles new and stashed them away in the rafters of garages and basements. Luckily this rifle, although not in its original box, was stashed away by a responsible owner. A perfect addition to a Colt collectors arsenal.
Extremely RARE Pre-Ban Colt AR-15A2 Sporter HBAR Model R6600 Rifle. The 6600 was only manufactured from 1986 to early 1989. These pre-89 rifles are highly sought after by collectors, as it is as close as one can get to owning an M16A2. There is no sear block. The Colt model R6600 Bar, Colt’s heavy-barreled version of the standard AR-15, is capable of increased accuracy over their regular counterparts. The R6600 H-Bars are incredibly accurate due to their 20″ heavy barrels. This 6600 HBAR Sporter is a true treasure. Made for the civilian market after the SP1 series of AR’s this model incorporated the new 20″ heavy barrel (HBAR) with 1/7 twist for use with the heavier green tip 62gr ammo. A2 sights, A2 flash hider, brass deflector and round hand guards were also added to this model. This rifle may not come in its original green label box but this is a true Green Label Colt. There is no sear block and this does have a bayonet lug, with heavy “C” marked bolt carrier. If you want a true jewel and the ultimate safe queen then this is the rifle for you!
