Markings: The barrel is marked “C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the Colt and Colt Rampant Logo, “AR-15 A2 HBAR SPORTER CAL .223 SER. SP 245345”, “COLT’S FIREARMS DIVISION COLT INDUSTRIES HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.”, “SAFE FIRE”. The Bolt Carrier is marked “C” on the left side and the neck of the bolt head is marked “MPC”.
Barrel Length: 20”. 21” with fixed A2 Flash Hider.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an A2 front post with elevation adjustment and the rear sight is an L-type flip aperture integrated to the carry handle.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle is equipped with a standard A2 fixed stock, pistol grip, and front handguard. The buttstock is polymer with sling ring, checkered buttplate, and trap door for storage compartment. The pistol grip is checkered polymer. The handguard is a round ribbed rifle length polymer handguard. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttplate. Overall the stock rates in Very Good condition. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering on the grip is slightly dulled. The handguard and buttstock have some light scratches. The front takedown pin has been replaced.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: Two Magpul PMAGs in Excellent condition. They are still sealed in factory packaging.
Type of Finish: Parkerized and anodized finish.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is finish wear and loss on the receiver, particularly on the case deflector, ejection port, delta ring, and buffer tube. Overall this rifle rates in Very Good condition. Please see photos for a better understanding of this rifle’s condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The more rare of the Colt Rifles: Pre-Ban Colt AR-15A2 Sporter HBAR Model R6600 Rifle. The 6600 was only manufactured from 1986 to early 1989. These pre-89 rifles are highly sought after by collectors, as it is as close as one can get to owning an M16A2. There is no sear block. The Colt model R6600 Bar, Colt’s heavy-barreled version of the standard AR-15, is capable of increased accuracy over their regular counterparts. The R6600 H-Bars are incredibly accurate due to their 20″ heavy barrels. This 6600 HBAR Sporter is a true treasure. Made for the civilian market after the SP1 series of AR’s this model incorporated the new 20″ heavy barrel (HBAR) with 1/7 twist for use with the heavier green tip 62gr ammo. A2 sights, A2 flash hider, brass deflector and round hand guards were also added to this model. This rifle may not come in its original green label box but this is a true Green Label Colt. There is no sear block and this does have a bayonet lug, with heavy “C” marked bolt carrier and “MPC” bolt head. If you want a true jewel and the ultimate safe queen then this is the rifle for you!
