Our Assessment:  The FN Browning Hi-Power GP Competition 9mmP Pistol is not only a competition-ready powerhouse but also holds a special place among collectors due to its rarity.

This particular Hi-Power variant, with its 6-inch barrel and fixed front counterweight, stands out as one of the more rare models in the Hi-Power lineup. Its unique combination of features, including the extended barrel and the eye-catching counterweight, sets it apart from the standard Hi-Power models commonly seen in the market.

As a competition-focused pistol, the GP Competition is designed to deliver optimal performance on the range. The extended 6-inch barrel provides a longer sight radius, enhancing accuracy and precision. It also optimizes the velocity of the 9mmP round, contributing to flatter trajectories and improved terminal ballistics.

The fixed counterweight at the front of the barrel serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it helps to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil, ensuring faster follow-up shots and better control. This feature is particularly advantageous in competitive shooting scenarios where speed and accuracy are paramount. Secondly, the counterweight adds a distinctive visual appeal, making the GP Competition instantly recognizable and adding to its overall allure.

In addition to its standout features, the GP Competition incorporates other competition-ready enhancements like its adjustable sights to allow for precise aim adjustment.

Whether you’re a serious competitor seeking an edge or a collector on the hunt for a rare gem, the FN Browning Hi-Power GP Competition 9mmP Pistol is a true gem. Its combination of rarity, competition-specific features, and timeless Hi-Power design make it a coveted piece for both enthusiasts and shooters alike.
