Markings:The left side of the barrel is marked, “REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILLION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. .222 REM.”   Also marked with PAT numbers and date mark “BE” and proof marks. The left side of the receiver is marked with serial number “B6541634” and “REMINGTON MODEL 700”. The right side of the barrel just in front of the action is marked with several proofs.

Sights / Optics: There are no sights on this rifle.  It is however drilled and tapped for optics.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a checkered wood stock with a semi-pistol grip, raised comb with left side cheek rest, 2 sling studs, and black plastic checkered buttpad. The LOP measures 13.5” inches from the front of the trigger to the end of the buttpad.  . The screw heads throughout the rifle are sharp and show no signs of tool marks. Overall the stock rates in Great Condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is shiny and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.  In this writer’s opinion it rates 8/10.

Overall Condition: This Rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows small rust marks and patches throughout.  The bolt cycles smoothly and has no play while in battery.  There are wear marks on top of the receiver from previous optics that were mounted.  The safety is functional with positive lock up in both positions. The internal magazine spring is strong. The trigger is crisp with very little take up or overtravel. The bolt release is built inside the trigger guard just in front of the trigger shoe and has a strong spring. The checkering on the bold knob is still clearly defined and the ejector spring is strong. This Rifle overall is in about Good+ Condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
