Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “RR20497F” with a QR code and “Remington / MODEL 700”. The left side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC. ILION. NY 338 LAPUA MAG”. The left side of the scope rings is marked “P.E.P.R. ™ Burris”.
Barrel Length: 24”. 25” with integral muzzle brake.
Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a scope Burris PEPR base for all your favorite scopes and optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a Sonoran Ambush Molded Mcmillan Stock with adjustable cheek piece, textured pistol grip, rubber buttpad with LOP extension plates, 2 QD mounts in the left side of the forend and buttstock, and adjustable bipod. The LOP measures approximately 14.75” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber buttpad. The pad has some light handling wear. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish There are light handling and standard operational marks but no notable defects. There are some light scratches on the outside of the barrel. The markings are clear. The screwheads are strong and sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement. Remington had been producing sporting rifles for decades, but their Post-WWI Model 30 Sporter took too much time & money to make and required too much milling. After WWII they designed the Model 721 which used a receiver made of bar stock, meaning it could be turned on a lathe, cutting production time. The basic design of the 721 went through further developments under the direction of engineer Mike Walker, and Remington went on to produce the Model 722 and Model 725, and finally, in 1962, the Model 700 was born. With the design, Walker desired to increase accuracy over previous designs so tight bore & chamber tolerances, a short leader, and fast lock time were used. Since its inception in 1962, it has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. If it hasn’t there are custom parts and gunsmiths out there to get it exactly how you like. This 700 is clean and chambered with a hunting and long range marksmanship favorite, the 338 Lapua Magnum ideal for a wide range of purposes.
