Right side of the receiver is marked “R-25” and “FIRE” and “SAFE”.

Sights / Optics: There are no sights integrated with this rifle, but it has a top picatinny rail for customization options.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The pistol grip and buttstock are synthetic and the free-floating handguard is aluminum. The pistol grip is a CA comp finned grip. The stock and handguard are covered with Mossy Oak Treestand Camo cerakote, which shows some visible wear on the rail from previously mounted scopes as well as some marks on the right side of the receiver. There is a trap in the fixed buttstock. The LOP measures 14.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the fixed buttstock. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: One detachable 10rd .308 magazine in Fine overall condition. Bottom of the magazines are marked “DPMS Panther Arms”.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal and cerakote finishes. The balance of the finish shows moderate wear on the brass deflector. The screw heads are sharp and pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. The mag release has been replaced with a CA compliant bullet button.

Our Assessment: Built on the AR-10 platform, the Remington R-25 rifle offers a great target shooting firearm along with some great tradition. This Remington R-25 comes to us from Ilion, NY, the same town in which Eliphalet Remington founded his original company. Remington is the oldest American manufacturer, having started in 1816 and created everything from single shot black powder rifles to our modern ARs. It features a classic fixed buttstock with the advantage of Picatinny rails for easy customization. Eugene Stoner’s AR-10 design chambered in 7.62 NATO was the design his company submitted to the US Army, who was looking to replace the M1 Garand. By 1957, the AR-10 made a late appearance in the military trials. Unfortunately, this firearm had a steel sleeved aluminum barrel and the design suffered a burst barrel during a military shooting torture test, damaging the company’s reputation and causing it to lose out on the military contract to the M14. But it wouldn’t take long for the AR design to experience a resurgence and the AR-10 would continue production. This Remington rifle chambered in 308 continues that lineage of hefty reliable firearms without losing any of the traditional high quality demanded from AR builds. The R-25 is a sleek and versatile firearm that owes itself well to high levels of accuracy and is just begging to be added to your collection!
