Markings: Bottom of the pistol grip says “OPEN” with an arrow on it to show the opening of the pistol grip storage. The left side of the receiver is marked “195-99368” near the front and then marked “BEFORE USING GUN — READ WARNING IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM STURM, RUGER, & CO., INC. SOUTHPORT, CONN, U.S.A.” on the rear left side. Ruger phoenix is stamped on the left back side of the receiver too. Top of the receiver is marked “RUGER RANCH RIFLE CAL. .223”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade and the rear sight is a folding rear aperture adjustable for elevation. The top of the receiver is fitted with a scope mount that features a red dot sight (needs batteries).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is black synthetic with a folding metal buttstock, rubber buttpad, sling ring in the nosecap, and sling stud on the left side in front of the buttstock. The LOP measures 12.6” from the front of the trigger to the back of the unfolded buttpad. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition. The checkering on the grip and forend is dulled.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows minor operational wear on the bolt carrier. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition. Please see photos for a better understanding of the rifle’s condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a total of one 30rd Eagle International polymer Beta-Mag magazine in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: Don’t be too deceived by this firearm, it’s a modern take on a classic platform! Ruger found inspiration for this Mini-14 Ranch Rifle in the M1 Garand of all places, with a breech bolt locking system and a fixed-piston gas system that includes a self-cleaning gas cylinder. Harsh operating conditions like those found in open ranch lands or urban environments won’t stop this compact rifle from doing its job. This is a solid firearm and has many more range days in its system, or keep it as a truck gun with its handy folding stock. Either way, you just need to bid on it and add it to your arsenal!
