Markings: The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER BLACKHAWK .357 MAGNUM CAL. NEW MODEL BLACKHAWK”. The right side of the frame under the cylinder is marked with the serial number “36-55140, 35-56153”. The left side of the barrel is marked “STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. / SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A.”.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a raised square brass blade, integral to a base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch in a base pinned to a channel in the top strap and is adjustable for elevation and windage.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood grips with the silver Ruger phoenix logo on either side and stars around the grip screw. There is light scratching on the butt of the grip. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the panels are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright and the rifling is semi-sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate at 9/10.
Overall Condition: The 36-55140 handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a turn line in the cylinder and light scratching on the barrel and frame from use. The action has wear from use. The cylinder and inner frame is covered in a heavy coat of carbon. There is discoloration from heat. The serrations on the hammer spur are worn.. Overall this pistol is in Very Good condition.
