Our Assessment: This semi-auto shotgun was named after the saiga antelope, an animal almost as rare as these Russian import firearms. Built on the traditional Kalashnikov-style rifles, this sporterized firearm can become a simple defense tool or just a sweet range toy. This shotgun, with its detachable magazines, offers speed and sturdiness, even if some might say the Saiga format is a little finicky. The great condition of this firearm and the potential “coolness” factor of an AK platform should tempt everyone to add a Saiga to their collection. Russian imports at the top of the desirables list. Markings: Left front side of the receiver marked with Russian letters along with several proof marks. See photos for close-up images. Also along the left side of the receiver marked with serial number “X11431162” and “MADE IN RUSSIA BY IZHMASH LEGION USA INC HALLANDALE BEACH, FL”. Right side of the receiver is marked “SAIGA – 12 12/76”, “18,3” and “S” and “F”. The BCG has a matching serial number “162”. The Bolt head and carrier have matching serial numbers.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with front post and rear notch sights. The top of the hinged dust cover has a picatinny rail for all your favorite sights and optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: This is a 3 piece synthetic furniture set with traditional checkered pistol grip and fixed buttstock with sling swivel underneath, straight comb, and polymer smooth buttplate. The handguard is a 2 piece AK style polymer ribbed upper and lower handguard. The left side of the front cap has a sling ring. The dust cover is hinged. The barrel is threaded. The LOP measures 13.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttstock. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition. There are no chips or cracks. This shotgun shows no signs or handling or use.

Bore Condition: The smooth bore is bright. There is no visible erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no wear outside of loose storage within factory box.The receiver and barrel are very clean. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition. There are still traces of factory grease. The barrel has a small minor hard to notice scuff from said loose storage. Appears to be never fired outside of factory testing.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
