Markings: Barrel is marked “5.56 NATO 1X9”. The right side of the receiver is marked “FIRE” and “SAFE” and the magazine well is marked “M&P 15”. The left side of the receiver is marked with Smith & Wesson’s logo and “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD.MA MADE IN U.S.A. SN 36736”. Marked “MODEL M&P-15” behind the bolt catch and marked “SAFE” and “FIRE” around the safety selector.  The right side of the upper on the charging handle housing is marked with a splintered A forge mark.  The scope is marked, “LEUPOLD VX R PATROL 1.25-4×20”.  The scope rings are marked with the Night Force Logo.  The right side of the buttstock has the Smith and Wesson Logo.

Barrel Length: 16″, 17″ with A2 Flash Hider

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an A2 post sight.  There is a picatinny rail atop the upper receiver and gas block for all of your favorite sights and optics.  The Picatninny is mounted with a LEUPOLD VX R PATROL 1.25-4X20 mounted with NightForce Scope Rings.  The sight picture is clear.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The stock is a Mil-Spec M4 synthetic adjustable buttstock with sling slot and sling ring at the bottom.  The pistol grip is a checkered and serrated A2 grip.  The handguard is a classic round ribbed synthetic free float carbine length handguard.  The LOP measures 13.5″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the fixed buttstock. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.  There are some light scratches on the buttstock and handguard.  The checkering on the pistol grip is crisp.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish  The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.  There are some very faint and light scratches on the receiver, particularly on the right side of the magwell.   (Please see our photos for a better understanding of the condition.)

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
