Markings: Left side of the barrel is marked “Smith & Wesson Governor” and the left side of the revolver frame is marked with Smith & Wesson’s logo. The right side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON .45 COLT – .45 ACP – .410 2-½” “. The right side of the frame is marked with “Executive Edition 1 of 100” the Smith & Wesson logo and “SPFLD, MA S&W, U.S.A.”. Pistol grips are marked with the Smith & Wesson logo and “GREAT SEAL OF THE GOVERNOR”. Inside the crane cut is marked “CRW8146 GOV”. The inside of the grips is marked with “62”.
Barrel Length: 2.75”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a tritium lamp, single dot blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch channel machined into the top of the frame.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth white plastic with finger grooves and no visible wear, chips or cracks. The grips rate in Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: Black with gold star band on the cylinder.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is what appears to be some erosion concentrated at the bottom of the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 7/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The frame has a small scratch below the cylinder release and some marring to the frame where the cylinder swings out. The screw heads are sharp and pins are unmarred. The markings are crisp. The cylinder has a very small but visible turnline. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: There is almost no side to side play in the cylinder while in lock up. Both the single action and double action trigger pulls are very smooth and crisp. This revolver is equipped with a frame safety lock. The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
