Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “.44 S.&W. SPECIAL CTG”. The butt is marked with the serial number. The yoke cut is marked “24-5”. The yoke is marked “040”. The side plate has the S&W logo, the right of the frame has the four line Marcas Registradas. The inside of the grips are marked “N” and the right grip has two signed initials.
Barrel Length: 6.5”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Patridge style blade pinned to a raised ramp with brass dot. The rear sight is a square notch in a micrometer click adjustable base serrated as well for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece diamond checkered S&W monogram grips. The checkering is crisp and the peaks are sharp. There is no handling wear. Overall, the grips rate in about Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Color Case Hardened, Blue

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The turn line is thin and faint. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup has almost no play. The double action is smooth and the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with its Performance Center aluminum locking case, owner’s manual, factory inspection envelope with spent cartridge, and warranty card.
