Action Type: Single and Double Action Revolver with Swing-Out Cylinder

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The right side of the barrel is marked “22 M.R.F. CTG.”. The right side of the frame has the four line Marcas Registradas address. The left side of the frame has the Smith & Wesson logo. The yoke cut is marked “BHN8008 / MOD 648”. The yoke and sides of the grip frame have inspection marks. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “V” and the cutout for the ejector is marked “S”. The butt of the grip frame is marked with the serial number “BHN8008”. The interior of the right grip has a date stamp.

Barrel Length: 6″ with Full Underlug

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Patridge blade pinned to a rise in the serrated rib. The rear sight is a standard square notch S&W micrometer sight adjustable for windage and elevation and is screwed to the top strap.  The barrel rib has been milled out for scope rings currently holding an Oakshore Electronic Sights Red Dot Sight.  The dot is bright and the sight picture is clear.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth Goncalo Alves combat stocks with finger grooves, speed loader cutout, and medallions. There are some light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip is in about Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.  In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some scattered light handling marks. There is an impact mark on the front of the under lug. There are a few hairline scratches.  The turn line on the cylinder is thin and faint. The screw heads are lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup has light play in lockup on each of the six chambers. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with its attached red dot as mentioned above and a  pistol soft case.
