Our Assessment: The Ruger Mini-14, a classic rifle known for its design resembling the M14 military rifle, has been a popular choice among gun enthusiasts for decades. The Ruger Mini-14 from 1985 is part of the earlier production years of this firearm. Introduced in the 1970s, the Mini-14 gained popularity for its reliability, versatility, and the appeal of its traditional design. Being chambered in .223 Remington reduces recoil and makes it more affordable to shoot than its larger .308 namesake. The folding stock adds a practical dimension to the firearm. The folding stock allows for a more compact and portable configuration, making it easier to transport and store. This feature can be particularly advantageous in situations where space is a concern or when carrying the rifle in a vehicle. Not to mention its iconic look and “cool” factor. The Mini-14’s gas-piston operating system contributes to its reliability, and it is known for its accuracy within moderate ranges. In conclusion, this example of a Ruger Mini-14 from 1985 with it’s folding stock is a classic firearm that exemplifies the enduring appeal of the Mini-14 design.
