Our Assessment:  The Ruger No.1 is a single-shot rifle designed and produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. The rifle was first introduced in 1966 and has since become a classic among firearms enthusiasts.

The Ruger No.1 was designed by William B. Ruger, the founder of the company, who wanted to create a high-quality, single-shot rifle that would appeal to hunters and shooters who appreciated traditional craftsmanship and design.

The rifle features a falling-block action, which is similar to the action used in classic single-shot rifles of the 19th century. The falling-block design provides a strong and reliable lockup for consistent accuracy, and it also allows for a shorter receiver, making the rifle more compact and lightweight.

Over the years, the Ruger No.1 has been produced in a wide variety of calibers, from small varmint cartridges to large big-game rounds. The rifle has also been produced in many different configurations, including versions with heavy barrels, full-length stocks, and special finishes.  This particular No.1 is a rare RSI model with its gorgeous and equally iconic Mannlicher or International Stock.

Today, the Ruger No.1 remains a popular choice among hunters and shooters who appreciate the classic styling and precision performance of a single-shot rifle. Whether you’re looking for a high-quality hunting rifle or a collector’s piece, the Ruger No.1 is a firearm that’s sure to impress.
