Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked, “SPIKE’S TACTICAL APOPKA, FL S/N SH03373”.  The right side of the receiver is marked, “RARE BREED DESIGN MDL. SPARTAN CAL. MULTI”.  The ambidextrous safety is marked with bullet monograms.  The left side of the upper is marked, “SPARTAN”.  The dust cover is marked, “MADE IN U.S.A.”.  The sides of the handrail are marked “WILSON COMBAT”.  The top of the barrel is marked, “WILSON COMBAT 300 HAM’R 1-13 WC” with the WC logo near the muzzle end.   The charging handle is marked “WILSON COMBAT”.

Barrel Length: 18”.  20” with muzzle device.

Sights / Optics: The top of the rifle is a full length uninterrupted picatinny rail for all your favorite sights and optics.

Stock Configuration & Condition: This lower and upper receiver are is uniquely designed by Rare Breed for Spike’s Tactical.  The mag well is a Spartan Helmet.  The buttstock is a Faux Wood fixed buttstock made to match the aesthetic of the receiver.  The pistol grip is a Faux Wood featureless angled “broomhandle” grip.  The handguard is a Wilson Combat 10.5” KeyMod Handrail with Ambi QD mounts.  The charging handle has been upgraded to a Wilson Combat Ambidextrous Charging Handle.  Has ambidextrous safety.  The barrel is a Fluted Wilson Combat 18” barrel.  The LOP measured 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttstock.  Overall the stock rates in Fair condition.  The Buttstock is cracked and needs to be replaced. Other than that the rest of the rifle is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp.  There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition:  This rifle retains 99% of its finish.  The balance of the finish shows no visible wear except for common place marks where the charging handle latches to the receiver.  The receiver and handguard are exceptionally clean. There are no notable scratches anywhere on the rifle except for some light scratches on the muzzle device. Overall this rifle rates in Excellent condition with exception of the buttstock that needs to be replaced.  Please see our photos for a better understanding of this rifle’s condition.

Mechanics: We did not fire this Lower. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: Alright, so let me tell you about the Spike’s Tactical Rare Breed Spartan. This thing is a work of art, and it’s clear that the folks at Spike’s put a lot of time and effort into designing it. According to a press release from the company, they spent over a year working on the design and development of this lower. That’s dedication, folks.

So what makes the Rare Breed Spartan lower receiver so special? Well, for starters, it features a Spartan helmet as the mag well. That’s right, you can channel your inner Spartan warrior every time you load a magazine into this thing. It’s also compatible with all standard AR lower receiver parts, so you can customize it to your heart’s content.

But this lower receiver isn’t just about looks with its gorgeous Bronze Cerakote. It’s built to last, with a 7075 T6 billet receiver and MIL-A-8625F Type III Class 2 hard coat anodized finish. It also has bullet pictogram selector markings and is low shelf and RDIAS compatible. This thing is a beast.  With a matching Spartan upper paired with Top-Tier parts, this Top Tier AR-15 is near the pinnacle when it comes to quality and beauty.

With a Wilson Combat barrel, Wilson Combat Handrail, and Wilson Combat Ambi Charging handle there is really nothing to not like about this beautiful rifle.  The buttstock and grip definitely need to be replaced having migrated to us from Commiefornia.

In conclusion, This Spike’s Tactical Rare Breed Spartan is a thing of beauty.
