Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “38 COLT & / S&W SPEC.” and “SCHOFIELD PATS JUNE 20TH 71. APR 22ND 78”. The bottom of the barrel is marked with Italian proof marks. The cylinder has Italian proof marks. The right side of the barrel is marked “STOEGER-ACCOKEEK, MD-A. UBERTI ITALY”. The butt-strap features the serial number “F12373” and “U.S.”. The grip panels have faux cartouches. The left side of the grip frame is marked “F12373”, “2015”, Uberti Logo, “CAT.9438”, “A.UBERTI-ITALY”. The right side of the grip frame is marked “CN”, “CIP/N”, with another proof.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed at the muzzle. The rear sight is a “V”-notch integral to the barrel latch.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip panels are two-piece walnut with ambidextrous thumb rests. They have some light handling marks but lack any notable defects. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip panels are in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is gray with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10. There is fouling on the lands and grooves.
Overall Condition: The revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are some light handling marks but the pistol lacks any notable defects. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are unmarred and serviceable. Overall, the revolver is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single action trigger is crisp. The cylinder locks with only barely perceptible play on each chamber. The barrel locks with no play on the frame. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The pistol comes with its serial matched box & paperwork which includes the user manual. The box has some handling wear but it remains in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: This Uberti replica of the Model 1875 Schofield Revolver is a single action top-break revolver chambered for .38 S&W Long and .38 Long Colt cartridges. The gun was originally designed by Major George Schofield for use with the cavalry and became a popular option among shooters in the late 19th century. Particularly useful for the cavalry, the revolver’s top-break design and automatic ejection made the gun far easier to load and unload while in the saddle with reins held in one hand. The gun features a stirrup-style top-latch and automatic cartridge extractor. This modern replica is beautifully finished and has faux cartouches to give it some added flavor.
